Based on William Page’s die-cut series No. 504. Patented in 1887 as a heavy-weight display type, it has been reimagined by Steve Matteson. Matteson Typographics created the Salida family. Named for a town in Colorado on the Arkansas River, Salida is a strong and rustic display font reflecting the rugged landscape of the area. The Regular weight is one of six weights. Virgin only makes the Regular and Black weights. The digital version of this font is available at MyFonts.
