I have had several requests for calendar fonts so I have created a new set of patterns for a condensed gothic calendar font. Each font consists of the numbers 1-31, 23/30, 24/31, and 7 blanks.
The 5 line calendar measures 7.5″ x 4.25″ when set solid. I am offering 5, 6, 8, and 10 line versions. Additional size information is on the Calendar Font order page.
Week and Month blocks

I have a complete set of month names and 2 sets of week names that came with the American Wood Type Mfg. Co. collection. I am not sure if people want or need these blocks so I have not cut any samples yet. All of these are reversed on round cornered rectangles. I can make new patterns for these elements and offer them to match the calendars if anyone is interested. Contact me through email or leave a reply below if you want to explore these additional calendar elements.
James of the NM History Museum Print Shop and I were perusing your web site at the Museum a few minutes ago and I thought I would send my compliments.
We own a C & P 8×10 platten press and the SFCC where my wife teaches owns a Golding 8×10 platten and a Vandercook that we are beginning to have students use.
Thank you for making wood type. We will need some (additional) in the future. …the web sites are my creation – not much, but a start for both efforts.
Cheers,
Chuck Chambers
Hi James
I think I may have replied to you earlier, but I don’remember for sure. I get a lot of spam compliments on the blog–I can’t keep track.
Thanks for the nice note..
Bill
So glad you’ve revived this art, sorry I didn’t stumble upon your site sooner! Are you still making type? If you need patterns to work from email me, I have a few faces and I’d be happy to share. Most of all, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hi Bill –
I had ordered your perpetual calendar over a month ago, tried emailing you about it and haven’t recieved a response… I noticed on here you’ve been responding to comments so perhaps you’ll see this sooner than later. Please, PLEASE, pretty please touch base with me. I would much rather have one of these beautiful pieces in my shop than the alternative…
Thanks Stephen.
Aim in the hospital typing this. The reason is brain cancer. I could be back at work in a week or so. Bill
magnificent points altogether, you just won a new reader. What might you recommend in regards to your submit that you simply made a few days in the past? Any positive?
